I’m nuts!

My latest project started in the morning. Sitting in a friends living room, him still sleeping and me smoking the coming day away, I saw a CD lying on top of dozens. A Fuge of Johann Sebastian Bach, but that’s not the point. It was covered with a Woodcut of Albrecht Dürer, a famous german artist. I remember myself as a child sitting with his picture of a hare almost awaiting it to start breathing because it looked so real.
I took the CD with me, copied and enlarged the pattern. Then took transparent paper and copied the lines with a crochet hook.
After this I filled the lines with a transfer pencil and copied the pattern with an iron to the fabric. You have to make sure that the iron is hot enough and it’s enough colour on the paper, otherwise you have to do it all over and again. Yes, I did…
And then I started following the lines and watching the time go by till I knew the pattern by heart.
So, one weekend, one workday and one visitor from Latvia later, I’m done. It’s going to be the centre of my first quilt. I just love it!
