once again it’s about books and kids. next entry has to be something for me only for sure. from the book „Kuscheltiere nähen“ by the Topp-Verlag I did Loretta for the first son of a friend.
She got a new name, a convenient filling and a story. I sew an additional cushion and filled it with organic spelt. You can remove the cushion at Florettas back and heat up or cool down the spelt. For closing I used a hook and loop fastener. The rest of the body is filled with sheep wool, between the head and the body I applied fabric so the wool stays where it’s meant to stay.
since I do not only like reading but writing too I wrote a little story about how Floretta came to meet the little boy and decide to stay with him. it’s about having a happy childhood and why she wears a scarf which I actually have to finish…
Floretta is the second live of a big towel which I dyed. My sewing machine had problems to move the fabric because it was very thick and plushy, so I put an ordinary newspaper beneath the fabric. I could remove the paper easily because of the short stitch length I chose.
